Women’s National Basketball Associations (WNBA)


Lisa Borders has recently accepted the role of President of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Her role will include strengthening the league and accelerating its growth.

She was most recently chair of The Coca-Cola Foundation and vice president of global community affairs at The Coca-Cola Company. Her work focused on the integration of the Coca-Cola Company’s global community outreach and philanthropic efforts into their broader sustainability agenda.

In early 2013, Ms. Borders successfully completed her tenure as president of the Grady Health Foundation, the fundraising arm of Grady Health System, Georgia’s largest public hospital and metro-Atlanta’s premier Level I Trauma Center. As president, Ms. Borders completed the Greater Grady Capital Campaign—a 5-year, $325M effort—and guided the system’s fundraising efforts during the most important period of Grady’s history.

Prior to her work at the Grady Health Foundation, Ms. Borders served as president of the city council and vice mayor of Atlanta. She was elected in August 2004 and served through January 2010.

Ms. Borders holds a BA from Duke University and an MHA from the University of Colorado. She has one son, Dijon, who is a filmmaker and photographer in California, soulsofsociety.com.
