As Firm Managing Partner of BlumShapiro, Carl is responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan and the effective financial management and operation of the firm. Under his leadership, through mergers, organic growth and the acquisition of experienced talent, the firm has grown to nearly 400 professional and administrative staff.
The firm’s growth has been strong but controlled, enabled through product and service innovations, an expanded portfolio of industry specialties and multiple strategic mergers and acquisitions. This unique business strategy has made BlumShapiro the largest regional accounting, tax and business consulting firm based in New England with offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The technical expertise is what sets BlumShapiro apart from other regional providers. The firm employs many resident experts in very specific, technical areas such as strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, tax planning, state, local and sales/use tax, international issues, etc. In addition to the expertise centered on audit and tax services, the differentiator in the middle market is the consulting group, which is a solution that most local and regional providers do not offer.
Carl has nearly 30 years of experience serving privately held companies in a wide range of industries with a concentration in the construction industry. He was elected Chief Operating Officer in 1999 and Managing Partner in 2002.
